Karate Wales Referee Course With Sensei Terry Pottage

Karate Wales will be holding a Referees, Judges & time/score keepers course at Bridgend Recreation Centre on Saturday 11th May.

The Course will be led by the world renowned referee Sensei Terry Pottage.

Sensei Pottage is a former EKGB and English Karate Federation Chief Referee, Commonwealth Chief Referee, a European Karate Federation Referee Commission Member and World Karate Federation Tatami Chief.

He is now a member of the WUKF Referee Commission.

The course will be aimed at teaching our referees and judges the Shobu Ippon, Shobu Nihon and Shobu Sanbon rules which are used in WUKF competitions.

It should be noted that Karate Wales is an Independent Governing body, not affiliated at this time to WUKF or any other World Body. However we feel that the time is right to expand our knowledge to incorporate these rules.

The course will run from 10am-4.30pm on Saturday 11th may, with an hour for a buffet lunch from 1pm-2pm

There will be a practical examination on the following day; Sunday May 12th at the Welsh Open Karate League Bridgend event, which will be run using these rules.

The cost of the course is £20 for referees and judges and £10 for time/score keepers.
